If you want to get Margo’s attention, besides mentioning her grandchildren or baseball, say the word, “Italy”! National Milken Educator Award recipient and author of twenty-seven traditionally published books, Margo spent the first seven years of her life in Spain and Italy, devouring books and Italian food. After teaching high school and middle school, Margo is now a full-time writer for people of all ages, and she believes young readers are ready for new ideas and experiences, and that they enjoy “living” the lives of the characters in books.
Margo has won recognition and awards for her books, including ALA Quick Pick Nominations, recommendations from Multicultural Review, and being named a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award in YA Fiction. Under her pen name of Marcie Kremer, Margo has also written a teen romance for Bantam and an adult historical romance for Entangled Publishing.
After having lived in Hawaii, California, and Minnesota, Margo and her husband now live full-time in California. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys visiting her grandchildren, playing golf, reading, watching sports, traveling, and hearing from her readers. A frequent conference presenter, she enjoys meeting with readers in school and library settings and in Skype sessions (over 310,000 virtual miles) from Minnesota to California and Hawaii as well as internationally, and she loves hearing the new ideas readers share with her: “Why don’t you write a book about…?” Additionally, Margo speaks four languages, including, of course, Italian. She is thrilled to have Secrets in Translations soon in the hands of readers and hopes everyone will have the chance to visit Italy and enjoy its beautiful culture and the friendliness and warmth of its people.
Fitzroy Books and Regal House Publishing is delighted to bring you Margo Sorenson’s Secrets in Translation in the fall of 2018.
